Who We Are
Living Faith Center (LFC) is a diverse community of Christians that has been serving the needs of Santa Barbara since 1940. We are affiliated with the Assemblies of God, and we welcome you to worship with us, whether you have a church background or not. When you worship with us, we hope that you will experience God’s love, acceptance, and forgiveness, as well as his life-changing power.
Our senior pastor is Mike Moccardini. Mike grew up in LFC and has a passion for helping students become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. He lives with his wife Yvonne in Goleta. He and his wife have twin girls.
What We Believe
As a church affiliated with the Assemblies of God, we subscribe to our denomination’s Statement of Fundamental Truths. This doctrinal statement includes beliefs that are common to all Christians as well as beliefs that are distinctive to our denomination. Knowing that some of our beliefs are common and some distinctive, we strive to follow the advice of Rupertus Meldenius, a 16th Century Lutheran theologian, who wrote: “If we preserve unity in essentials, liberty in non-essentials, and charity in both, our affairs will be in the best position.”
When We Meet
Our Sunday morning worship service begins at 10:15 a.m. in the Main Auditorium.
A nursery is available for infants and toddlers.
Safe, fun, and kid-friendly programs are available for preschoolers through elementary aged children during the second half of the worship service. (During the first half of the service, they’re invited to sing and participate with the adults.)
Junior high and high school students meet at 9:00 a.m. in Grams Hall for friendship and Bible study.
Why Attend LFC?
There are several reasons why we think you should attend LFC.
How to Get Involved
There are four simple ways to get involved with LFC.
Children
The mission of our Children’s Ministry is to provide kids a safe, fun environment where they can learn about God and how he wants them to live.
On Sunday morning, we provide childcare for infants through preschoolers throughout the worship service. Our paid workers have been trained and passed a criminal background check, so your kids are in good hands.
Kindergarten through elementary age children participate in the worship service from 10:15-10:45 a.m. Then they are dismissed with their volunteer teachers to go to their Sunday school class for the remainder of the service.
We use the award-winning HighPoint curriculum to teach kids good, God-centered values. On Sunday, June 1, they are beginning a new, five-week series called Truth and Consequences, which teaches them the difference between truth telling and lying, and helps them see why God wants them to tell the truth.
